Pierhand

Windows 10 and 11 · iPhone and iPad

Your iPhone, handled from your PC.

A Windows app for the iPhone on your cable. Back it up, copy photos off, set its GPS.

The Pierhand window on its Simulate Location page. A street map of San Francisco with a red pin dropped on it, latitude and longitude boxes under it, and a blue button that reads Move iPhone here.

One window for everything the cable can do.

Plug in, unlock, tap Trust. Pierhand talks to the phone the way Apple's own software does. No jailbreak, and nothing installed on it.

Put it anywhere on the map.

Click a spot or search for a place, press one button, and the phone reports being there. One more click puts it back.

Back it up. Put it back.

A full copy of the device on your own disk, in the format Apple's software uses. Restoring asks you to press and hold first.

Photos, videos and files

Browse the camera roll and the phone's shared storage. Copy what you want to your computer. It shows what is stored on the phone itself, so photos kept only in iCloud won't be there.

Contacts and messages

Read your contacts and recent messages straight out of a backup, without restoring it to a phone.

Apps, diagnostics and logs

See what's installed, read battery and hardware details, watch the live system log and collect crash reports.

Screenshots and the device's name

Save the phone's screen to a file on your computer, rename the device, or restart it.

The real app, not a drawing of it.

Every picture on this page is a screenshot of Pierhand itself, taken with no phone plugged in.

The Pierhand dashboard. A blue panel waiting for a device, tiles for model, iOS version, storage and battery, three steps for getting connected, and six shortcuts.
The dashboard, waiting for a device. It fills in by itself when you plug one in.
The Pierhand Backup and Restore page. A Start backup button, the folder backups are saved to, and an empty list of existing backups.
Backup and restore. The page shows the folder your backups go to.

What's on your phone stays on your computer.

Sent to Lemon Squeezy, the store
Your license key and your computer's name, about once a day, to confirm your subscription.

Nothing. Backups, photos, messages, contacts, screenshots and logs are read over the cable and saved to your own disk. There is no Pierhand server, no account with us, no ads and no tracking. The privacy policy has the detail.

Check your setup before you pay.

Some jobs need more than a cable. Pick yours and see exactly what it takes.

Not sure which iOS you have? On the device, open Settings, then General, then About.

You'll need

  • A Windows 10 or 11 PC, 64-bit
  • A USB cable, with the device unlocked and trusted
  • Apple's device driver: the free Apple Devices app, or iTunes
  • Developer Mode switched on in the device's Settings
  • pymobiledevice3, a free tool that runs on Python. Pierhand checks for it and helps you install it.
  • An internet connection, for the map and to activate your key

Needs a subscription

Many apps and games forbid simulated locations and may suspend accounts that use them. This is meant for testing on your own device.

One plan, two ways to pay.

Both unlock every page of the app. Cancel when you like and keep access until the time you paid for runs out.

Questions people ask first.

Is Pierhand made by Apple?

No. Pierhand is an independent app. It isn't made, endorsed or supported by Apple.

Does it jailbreak or change my iPhone?

No. It uses the same cable connection and Trust This Computer step as Apple's own software, and installs nothing on the device. It can't get past a passcode or Activation Lock.

Can simulating my location get me into trouble?

It can. Many apps and games forbid it and may suspend accounts that do it. The feature is meant for testing on your own device. Where you use it is your responsibility.

Is there a Mac version?

No. Pierhand runs on Windows 10 and 11 only.

How many computers can I use it on?

Up to 2 at a time. To move it, open Account in the app on the old computer and choose Remove from this computer, then enter your key on the new one.

How do I cancel, and can I get a refund?

Cancel any time from the link in your receipt email or from the Account page in the app. You keep access until the end of the time you paid for. Refunds are covered in the refund policy.

Are my backups encrypted?

No. Backups are saved unencrypted, which is what lets Pierhand read contacts and messages out of them. Anyone who can use your Windows account can read them, so keep them somewhere you trust.

Why don't all my photos show up?

Pierhand lists the photos and videos stored on the phone itself. If iCloud Photos is on, most of your library is kept in iCloud and only part of it is on the phone at any time, so only that part appears. Unlock the phone before loading the list, too: a locked iPhone hides its photos.

Plug in and get on with it.
